I been sick the past few days so, not being able to do much else I have been watching The National Parks on PBS's website. All of the episodes are on their website through tomorrow. I know that is not much time to get them all in at two hours each, but if you missed one or two here is your chance.

I'm currently watcing Part Four "Going Home", just starting Chapter 5 "Back of Beyond" and it is starting off with a quote and biographical information on Horace Kephart. I paused it so I could post this thread and get the word out in case any of you were interested in seeing it. You can scroll through each episode and then through each chapter, so if you just want to see that part you don't have to watch the whole thing.

Enjoy

I saw a clip from The Empire Of Grandeur episode where they showed a picture of two axemen chopping down a sequoia and all I can say is wow. The tree is freakin huge! Haven't caught any other episodes but they seem great.

A quick fact on national parks. I was curious as to what the percentage of US land is a national park, so I was searching around online. It seems there is a little over 52 million acres of national parkage, just coined a word. 83 million acres of total national park system land too. There is some line 2.4 billion acres of land in the US and all territories, 1.8 or so of which is continental US. So it is about 2-3% however you slice it. National parks are great, though sadly few have the desire to see them and those who do probably don't have enough time to do so.

Thanks for the link!
