I've been wanting a Native 5 for a while, but I've just never bought one. So, I figured, let me add it to my Christmas list and see what happens. Turns out my in-laws bought it for me. It just came in this past Wednesday because it was backordered where they bought it from. This is a great knife. I love the size and shape, and the lockup is solid. I never realized how big my PM 2 and Stretch were until I looked at them next to the Native. It may have become my new favorite. It will definitely be hard to pick between these three in the mornings. Anyway, it's a great knife and I wish I would have purchased one sooner. Now I'll definitely be getting the S110V in dark blue FRN, and maybe the G10 one as well, this year.

I would figure that you guys like pics as much as the Beckerheads, so here it is.

Congratulations. The PM2 is that much larger than the Native-5? I'm assuming the PM2 would be much more noticed in the pocket then, right?

Out of the pocket, yes, it is a good bit larger. In the pocket, the PM2 is surprisingly small. Same with the Stretch.

Great gift!
Solid knife, and just as solid In-laws! ;)

It's a nice alternative to add for your knife selection.

@this_is-nascar Here are two comparison shots if you, or anyone else, is interested.

And, yes, indeed, Speedholes. Top-notch in-laws.

I was/am really surprised by the Native 5 lw as well. 2nd favorite Spydie I've owned so far. First would be the Millie even though I don't currently own one. Haha. If they made a Para with a spine profile like the N5 I'd be all over it. I really don't like the hump/thumb ramp on the spine.

Congrats on a great knife. I just gave my bro in California the same knife for Christmas, only I added a sharpening choil and gave the grind a hand scratched finish. Just to give it a personal touch. My G-10 Native remains a favorite and I consider it the knife that really got me into Spydies.
Enjoy it and use it!

@archieblue The spine is one of the things I've noticed I really like as well. I do really enjoy the hump on the Stretch and PM2 though as it is a great place to put your thumb. Not sure I like one over the other, but I like that I have the option.

I think what I like most about the spine, though, is the swedge or grind (not sure exactly what to call it). Also not sure if it adds anything while cutting, but I like it.
