Just off a quick glance, the Native Chief reminds me allot of the Benchmade AFCK. Does anyone else get that vibe?

Apples and oranges?

Back lock vs. liner lock

S30V. vs. ATS 34

Finger choil vs. no finger choil.

Spyderco vs. Benchmade.

Any comparison would certainly be superficial. No vibe here.

However, there is a similarity between the Spydie holes :).

I guess the similarities for me are more of a cosmetic thing. They both kind of have a long, skinny look going on with the spidey hole. Im thinking the Native Chief might find it's way to my cart if I dont find a good AFCK on the big online auction site.

I don't know anything about the Native Chief, which I don't have, but I do have a Native 5 which I don't much care for (ergonomics just don't seem right).

However, I do own a Mini AFCK which is a very nice knife, and one of the first knives I owned on my path to knife addictiono_O.

I highly recommend you find the mini vs. the full sized, since the latter is quite a handful. Good luck in your search.

The lines and proportions are a bit similar, I guess I can see it.

The Chief seems to be getting good reviews. I’m a little skeptical as I distinctly dislike the Native 5 LW. I also rarely carry large knives and when I do a $150 knife doesn’t really make sense.

Blade geometry, designer, designed purpose....

But yeah... I guess the holes are both round... but I still don't get that vibe.
