Native II

I went to my local gunstore today and bought a stainless steel Native II plain edge. Both the dealer and I started wondering how the knife is made. There are no screws or rivets that are present in the Zytel version.

Perhaps it's a question for Sal.

Look again. The pins are about 4mm in diameter. The pivot pin's pretty easy to see on mine, but I can make out other pins.

Stainless pins, on a stainless handle. If they are at least close to being the same type of steel they will blend in nicely with the brushed finish Spyderco puts on the all stainless versions.

Yes, the pins are 4mm diam, and are very wll finished, but I discovered them because this one of my Natives had the blade a little loose..so I just wrapped it into a towel, put it on the floor, and gently, very gently, pressed it with my 220 pds bodyweight. RESULT: the blade is no more loose, but the pins are slighty visibile.

Now I've discovered some of the rivets. They were VERY hard to discover. I had to use a 10x loupe to find them.
That says something about the Spyderco finish!

Hi Thomas. Welcome to the Spyderco forum.

As you can see, there are many knowledgable people that "hang out" here.
