I got my Native from a local knife shop. Told the guy what I was looking for and it was his suggestion.

Bought it on the spot.

The DIFFERENCE I see in it vs. the others is the position of the blade relative to the force of the hand.

The models like the Delicas and Calypsos feel to my hand like I am PULLING the blade through the cut whereas the Native, due to its edge being lower relative to the hand feels like it is PUSHING through the cut.

It seems to not want to veer off the direction of the cut as the others do.

May just be me, but it certainly is one cuttin fool.

Yah! But we NaTiVe kNuTz know which spyderco is the best! ;)
O, the PoWeR of the blade...

I see what you mean by the edge thing, but I tend to push instead of pull most of the time anyways.
Calypso is a better cutter simply of the full flat grind. It thins the blade out very much so and makes it very efficient. The Salsa is a great small knife, especially at cardboard because this thing just parts it like it wasn't there in the first place.
funny thing is that I'm a native fan and I'm getting challenged by the Calypso.

I really like my (PE) Native III...In-fact, it's my "utility" EDC folder.

native is nice but the calypso is BETTA! :p

different strokes for different folks, eh?

Native III is the best zytel Spyderco in the lineup. Calypso Jr. is a close second. I find that I carry the Native III more often lately.
