The Native stainless in plainedge arrived last week, my first order in over a year, but the craving came around again. This fills a need I had for a knife of its size, and I considered the strong point to be a strong point. The AUS-10 looks as nice as any others, in my opinion. As my first SS clipit, I found the heft and density as great as expected. The SS seemed a good choice for times when I need to really torque something (within reason). I realize that the grip is thinner than the FRN alternative seems to be. It opens smoothly and it's no problem to start even though the hole is partly obscured by the handle.

I have just added a wrist lanyard of white nylon cord; by wrapping it around your wrist or fingers, you obtain amazing control and safety. It tucks inside your pocket or waistband and assists in drawing, too.

I have tried the Lum Chinese but I feel the size and economical price of the Native made it ideal for me. This is going to scare the wits out of people who commented that my Rescue Jr. was pretty wicked. (In these times, being scared of a knife is quite childish.) This SS PE configuration was said to be on its way to retirement according to a search I did here.

It is a really nice isn't it! We love every one we get. Paul

As yet it performed well on foods such as chicken and fresh vegetables, some old nylon piping I had to cut off a blanket, punched air holes in plastic oil bottles while filling my engine, and of course duct tape. I guess a hollow ground blade this thick is not perfect for dense vegetables and fruits--carrots, for example.

Yes, but it sails through poultry, doesn't it? Maybe you should get a Delica or an Endura for the veggies.

I have an engraved PE in my tribe with a SE on the way.Love the AUS 10.If you really want to make it look classy get the clip jeweled.
