WOW!! I just got a spyderco native at walmart for 40 dolars. It's my first spidie. I carry a camillus cqb1 usually. I also have a few Striders. I'm a tactical fixed blade kind of guy But this little knife is AWESOME!!! It's fricken SHARP!! and solid as hell. Really an under rated knife.

Not really underrated ;). Quite a few like 'em. Do try a Delica 4 or Calypso Jr. for some really sweet cutting ability.

Yeah, no one around here under rates them. And for those of us who can find one at Wal-mart, its a quick fix for a knife junky. No need to stare at the mailbox for 3 days.

cheers

Can you tell me where I can find a Delica or Caly Jr, with an S30V Blade for under 40 bucks?? FRN & rivits makes it cheaper, but still a great user and a great deal.

I like mine a lot to. I use to think the spyder hole was ugly, but after one day of use. I understand it, and now think it is very nice looking. I'm weird like that, if it works better it makes it more attractive to me, utilitarian I guess. I don't know if you like this idea or not but give it a shot I did. Put a zip tie through the spyder hole zip it tight with the notch on the top, cut the rest of. Now because it carrys tip up. It will open when you pull it out of your pocket. Sort of a cheap getto wave thing, fugly yes, but it works good. My zip tie is black just to defugly it a little. And yes your right CPMS30V for 40 bucks, thats a deal.

I love the Spyderco Native (not the Native III), I think it is one of the absolute best designs for a workhorse knife that you can beat around. The size, ergos, and choil make it a fantastic EDC.

For the price, it's hard to go wrong with such a classy knife. And if you lose it... it's only 40 bucks (less then a tank of gas now a days). Not like you lost some $200 knife.

Man do I hope they make a CE Native in ZDP!

I've used lots of knives, but Spyderco's seem to stay in my pocket.
Just try a Golden made one if you want to really flip out.
Manix, 80MM Manix, Military, Para Military, etc

Got a Native a while back and it quickly earned it's way into my pocket as an EDC. It will stay there at least until my G10/S30V Leek comes in. It's ergonomics are hard to beat. It really does feel like a bigger knife.

This leek had better be pretty good because it will be hard to remove the Native from my pocket.

I also love the fact that it is cheap. I have been using it to cut things that I would not touch with a more expensive knife. In doing this the Native earned my respect. I've cut everything with it - Nylon rope, hemp rope, food, bones....... - and it just keeps going and holds an edge very well. A side note - mine came sharpened from Spyderco at 13 degrees per side and still is able to hold an edge - AWESOME KNIFE!! I will buy another once I wear this one out.
