I was chopping some bamboo to make wind chimes when a friend came by to talk. By the time I went back out the light was going but the pair of blades in the chopping block seemed like a good picture.
The machete is a KSF model customized by BRK&T. The golok is a second generation BRK&T. Both are in natural canvas Micarta.

The machete shines on soft to medium weeds and stalks like the head high astors and rag weeds growing in my access trails this afternoon. The thinner blade machete also cuts finger size limbs and stalks with almost zero effort and little drag. In trail clearing a blade that drags in the cut works you harder. I also has a good strong tip if you are doing a job that needs one.
For bushcraft like carving, draw knife work and chopping denser heavier wood the golok is the mack daddy. It also has a blunt end that will serve as a digging tool if you are pressed and the same blunt end does great finish work when you are barking green wood and you want to continue scraping but do not want to cut the grain of the wood

Great looking set, man.

Natural canvas is my favorite micarta too. My Landi knife has it as it's scales.
