A friend of mine is touring the world and is currently in Cambodia.
He has just posted these pics on Facebook and I thought it was an awesome example of how nature claims the land back from us over time !

Thanks for sharing, I really enjoy seeing these pics in National Geographic. I would love to get over there and explore for about a month.

That place looks familiar. Now I remember.

We went to Costa Rica for our honeymoon and went to the cloud forest for a couple of days. We hired a guide (HIGHLY recommended) and he pointed out a million things that I would have completely missed as someone not familiar with the local flora and fauna.

One neat area he pointed out was this ravine where a huge hardwood had fallen after a lightning strike and completely obliterated the area around it for a couple hundred feet in each direction. He showed me a picture, and it looked like one of those Mt St Helen images on a smaller scale. I couldn't even tell that anything had happened in the area, except that there were fewer of the massive trees there. I asked how long ago it had happened and his reply was "six months."

I thought those were Ficus, like everybody has in their office lobbies. And maybe, that building WAS an office and the lobby plants took over.
