Nature Hike with the BK14 and curious deer.

Took a little solo hike today to get out and get some fresh air. Was trying to get a video of some animals coming to the predator call. I had a angry raccoon come yesterday but I had the daughter strapped to my chest and the video ended up being mostly of the ground and me yelling at the coon to get it to stop its charge... Today was just cruising through the woods quietly and into the wind, if I had my bow instead of a camera these deer would have evacuated the country as soon as I got out of the truck (at least it seems that way sometimes). Some of these deer ran towards me when I was calling predators. Had a BK14 with me, wish I would have had it lashed to a stick (JK). I also had an idea for a becker contest, perhaps something like a geo cache where a BK knife is hidden and coordinates are given for the location, whoever finds it must post that they found it and then they need to hide a becker somewhere and post the GPS coordinates. Might want to put them in a Tupperware with a good coating of oil on the blade though...

Thanks for sharing.

I hope you were wearing orange! This weekend is definitely not one I would choose to go to the woods for a leisurely walk.:D

I was wearing my Pope and Young Buck Halloween costume!! I was in a forest preserve in a ritzy suburb of Chicago, that's why I had the camera instead of a bow, I stay well away from hunt-able timber during gun deer season.

Very cool pix.......I love it when I can get them close like that, gun or no gun, it gives me a thrill every time......Just does not happen often enough!!!!!!!!.....Thanks for a great post....
