Navigator II is Not Fun. Will it Loosen up?

In my quest for the perfect 2.5" or less for federal building carry I now have a Polliwog and the Nav II. The Polli is probably my most flickable and "fun" knife.

I love the size and shape of the Nav II, but it almost requires 2 hands to open! Lockup is the tightest of my 15 or so knives, and closing is tough too.

Not looking for flickable, but will this thing loosen up?

Thanks,

I don't know.. most Spyderco lockbacks I've used seem pretty stiff but pretty easy to open and close (except for one Spur - THAT was really hard to close one-handed).

*shrug* Tried any lube?

P.F.,
Sorry you're having that problem, but It is one I'm used to experiencing with SS-handled Spyderco's. They do have a "break-in" period of sorts, in my experience. If it is too much of a problem, I'd suggest contacting Spyderco.

Another thing you might consider (this is what I've done on my Navigator II and various other SS-handled models), is adding a drop of Militec, and repeatedly (20 or so times) opening and closing the blade. You should feel a difference. You can repeat the process if necessary.

Good luck!

Best wishes,
