so i was on fleabay looking at some cheaper knives on my ever growing wishlist and saw a good chunk of sanrenmu and navy knives, now i know that Bee, Ganja, sanrenmu and navy are all the go-to companies for chinese production from spyderco, buck, benchmade kershaw and gerber but it still makes me laugh a little seeing the same knives like the Navy 628 (spyderco chicago with an oval opening hole) or the Navy 631 (byrd cara cara with a spydie hole)

what are yalls opinions on these companies and their knives?

Wot?
Please explain...

as in when the US companies make a knife and its from china they dont use theyre own factories because its too expencive to make a building, hire people etc, they contact one of these chinese companies and the contacted company uses its already made facilities to make the knives, and apart of the contract made allows these chinese companies to make copies (well minor changes are made for legal reasons but none the less the same)

There are already two huge threads of opinions on Navy/Bee/SMR, so a quick search should get you more opinions than you want or need :p

Not so. There are some that operate their own factories in China.
Kershaw/KAI being one of them.

As for your original question, I don't like their(Sanrenmu, Navy, etc..) knives.
There are plenty of choices for me already from the brands I know and trust.

I own a few of the NAVY brand and one style of the Sanrenmu, bottom line is that they are very well made knives especially the couple different patterns I have of the NAVY brand. To me at the moment and for the next few years it is a matter of economics. My youngest is in college and we are footing the bill wsith what he didn't make in scholarships. So I like very inexpensive high quality knives which these two companies produce. keepem sharp
