So i was googling the mark 1 looking into the leather handled kabar, and boker's popped up as well. Whats the deal with this? is the mark 1 navy knife a name used by whoever makes a knife for the navy? and they are eerily similar and i mean almost dead on. So whats the deal?

I think it's Boker's interpretation of the historical Navy knife. They did a few other WWI/WWII designs including the Mark 3 Trench Knife and a few German trench knives, which have the same names as the original issued pieces. If I remember correctly that Mk. 1 is a copy of a wartime-production when metal was at a premium so it has a Micarta pommel instead of aluminum.

The Mk. 1 was made by whoever could produce it well at a decent cost, and that included Boker, as well as Kabar, Cattaragus, Camillus, and others.

I had the chance to fondle one two weeks ago. I wanted one when I first saw them, but after holding one not so much. Even though it may be tough the plastic butt just turned me off. It didn't feel right, seem really lightweight, and the blade is alot different than the Ka-Bar. Just my two cents.

May I ask what this knife is? I've never seen this blade profile with a Becker handle before. Is it a limited run or custom?
Thanks,
Al

IIRC it was a limited run, Boker bought all of the remaining Camillus grivory when Camillus went out of business.
Not exactly a knockoff, as they used Camillus' grivory, but not a true Becker product.
