Navy Mk V dive knife

Hey guys, just picked this one up today. What do you think if it/what can you tell me about it? Any of you have any experience in the use of, or sales and/or purchase of one of these types of knives? I have seen a couple on some antique diving equipment websites, and one on ebay at the moment.

Blade was in new condition, still had origional packing grease on it, no scratches, or wear marks or anything. Looks like this may have been well worn on the gear, by looks of the sheath, and handle, but the blade has never been used.

Lefty, that is a very, very cool knife :thumbup: :thumbup: Although I'm not a big collector (I have a few) it appears to be in pristine shape. I love it !

Here is a link to the page where they sell them for $245. I dove Mark V's and similar in the 1970's but never used one of those knives they were too heavy and I saw several get broken relatively easily. They use a leather strap with tang buckle through the loop in the brass tube scabbard to attach to your weight belt.

I wonder what type of steel is in this blade anyone know? There are no markings on it. I'd like to know how tough that blade is.
