Just found the auction site - great piece of history, especially for a knife guy, but the auction is already out of my price range...

Sold! For a mere $35,400. Good cause and hopefully a happy new owner! Wonder who he is? We'll probably never know.

I played with a mini-CQC-7 in a store the other day and could not believe how tight it was. F&F was excellent. I was surprised, given some of the negative talk. It was a very nice knife.

for that kind of coin it better have good fit and finish

hehe, I know I was making a joke about the claims of crappy finishing. FWIW, I handled one too, it was a cop's and it was beat to hell and back but it was still pretty tight. The liner was almost touching the opposite side but he said he had it for a long time and it sure looked like it.
