In Knifeworld, I saw an article on these this month, and found one on an auction site. In the article I read, they went for around $5 back in the 1950's, and they were WWII Surplus IIRC. Were these made after WWII, or only during the war? If these were made later, how much later? Is there any other history to these knives? What is the current value running on these?

Hmmmmm...if my memory serves me right (could be wrong). These were made by colonial as issue knives for navy survival kits. The saw was actually for cutting aircraft aluminum. I cant rrememeber if they were produced after the war (I dont think they were, but I could be wrong)? I do know that the marbles designed survival knife (now known, and evolved into the "pilots" survival knife eventually took it's place.

As far as value, I do not know what they are going for now? I remember years back they were pretty cheap. Im sure like most things, the price has gone up. I remember seeing original kabars, and all makes of the old M3 trench knives going for on the average of 15-30 dollars at flea markets 20 years ago.

These come up on ebay quite a bit, I think they go for about $30 but I am not really sure. Here is one made by United Manufacturing in Grand Rapids Michigan. I got It because my grandfather made tank parts there at the time.

WOW! I just peeked at the item, and it's almost $60 now, and there is another over $100.
