NC forge pressure?

I just purchased a used 3 burner NC forge atmospheric forge. I am having trouble getting it hot enough to weld in. How much pressure can you run on one of these forges safely?

8-12 pounds propane. If that does not do it take a fire brick and stop up the back hole. That will kick it up a bit. May worp the back sheet metal a bit around the door but I ran mine like that for 2 years.
