Dex, Kelly(?) Mark K,Denice and myself are foregoing the Charlotte show this Saturday in favor of the show held at the Columbia SC Fairgrounds. The annual meeting of the SC association of Knifemakers, SCAK for short, will be held there Saturday. This offers a better opportunity to see more custom knives. All NCKK are welcome to join us
The afternoon's entertainment will be watching Dex turn green eating Columbia's famous yellow mustard BBQ

After seeing Dexter's reaction to REAL Southern BBQ the last time we met in Columbia, maybe we should try another restaurant. I know - we can go scare the bejeezus out of Ronald McDonald !

See y'all there !!!

Well, in keeping with my recent string of no-shows, I'm gonna have to skip this one too.

Looks like another solid weekend of work.

Y'all have fun and be sure to check out GenO Denning's steel interframe folders at the show.

can someone give me directions to the Columbia state fairgrounds and will it be sat and sun ? tks

From the summerville area, go north on I-26 to north I-77. Exit Bluff road, back across the interstate, about 3 miles.there should be signs to follow. It is right next to the USC Gamecocks stadium, which is a pretty good visual reference. The show itself is Sat and Sun, buth the SCAK meeting is Saturday and we'll be there about 10:00 AM Sat morn.
We'll meet at L+W tactical knives table then. Just ask around. Look for a big bear lookin' fella, that's Don Williams, co-owner!
If we don't meet up, just have David Baker (me) paged. We will have a blast at lunch!

Mark,
Thanks for the pics. Living legends George Herron and Blackie Collins were in attendance. Most of the SC makers had booths set up in the same aisle, so it was like a mini-custom knife show. It was no Timonium, but a good time was had by all. And no, we didn't make Dexter eat any yellow mustard BBQ
