Anyone heading to the one day NCCA show on Feb 26th?

I havent been to one of these before and wanted to know if it was worth the 2 hour drive down from Boston. I won't have a table so wont be able to sell anything but I'll be bringing a few knives in a backpack to show anyone who is around (not sure how Kosher that is, so I'll feel it out and read the rules)

Do people sell handle materials and supplies at these as well?

Im planning to get a table at one later this spring....

Hey Tik Tock

NECKA always has a table there.

Yes there is usually handle material available. The last time I went, I bought some maple burl from Grasshoppa, he usually sets up at the NECKA table.

I will be there for sure.

Ah cool. When you say NECKA table, do you mean that if I am a member of NECKA that I can put suff on the table? Or do i still need to register somehow?

Dave,

Even if you do not have a table, it's a good place to meet other makers and make some connections. Charles Turnage was there at the last show with a table full of Mammoth Ivory for sale. It's worth the trip. I go just to bug Mace at his table and to bring him some crappy cigars.

when we set the table up at the Marlboro show
we agreed not to have more than two guys (wives don't count) at the table at once, so not to take advantage of the NCCA and it was hoped that anyone setting the table should be a member of NCCA also if I remember right? if not you'll have to pay the door fee.
I have the table right next to it so you can set there if the necka table is over loaded. the wife don't bite,, well very hard anyway :D

edited to add,
this one is not in Marlboro it's in CT just to make sure where is where

showing your knives with out a table is cool but not selling them with out a table..you'll get some real bad looks..

I think Feb. 26 is in East Windsor CT. It's also the same weekend as the "East Coast Custom Knife Show" In N.Y.C.
You can contact Arthur Green regarding the Feb 26 show at 518-725-4889
or his email is agreen03@nycap.rr.com
You have to be a member of the NCCA to get a table...I think it's $15.00 a year.....and a table is 30 I think . You can usualy get a table if you just show up the day of the show, but if you don't call ahead they put you right next to that Bill Vining guy...So I recomend you call ahead!:D

I wont have a table there but I'm sure I'll swing up for a bit.
