The North Carolina Custom Knifemaker's Guild is offering a scholarship to one of the classes being offered at Montgomery Community College this year. The scholarship is the Bill Moran Scholarship in memory of Margaret Moran.

To apply for the scholarship review the class schedule at http://www.ncknifeguild.org/classes.htm and chose one that is of interest to you. Write a short letter detailing your knifemaking experiences and why you want to attend that particular class. Send your letter to Tommy McNabb 4015 Brownsboro Rd. Winston-Salem, NC 27106. Letters must be post marked by June 1, 2002.

One applicant will be chosen based on the content of their letter. Anyone can apply, and as many of you have heard the classes are excellent. If you have any questions feel free to email me.

This is a great opportunity for anyone, beginner or not, that wants to learn more about knifemaking. You can be a veteran maker or someone just starting out and there is a class that you can benefit from.

Thanks Barry! I talked with Tommy McNabb (Guild President) and he indicates he has only received a couple of letters so far. For anyone thinking about it don't let the "someone else will win" keep you from applying.

Also, the deadline has been extended to June 15th 2002, because we didn't get out a written notice to Guild Members in a timely fashion.

Good Luck!
