A better caption for that photo might be "Cheyenne WITH an army bayonet". The Cheyenne were great light cavalry, but they were very weak in the quartermaster department - "issued" weapons like the one pictured were picked up after the battle. These, and the sabers, were why the European soldiers were called "gv-hayalasdi" - Long knives :D Made great souvenirs

That skin sorta, just sorta resembles some of the mighty Cheyenne's Burgess Boy's. Just good Ol' Boy's that happen to be skins as well.
And like Will Rogers, "They are of ndn blood with just enough white thrown in so as you better not trust their honesty." ;)
In my opinion.:)

Ya don't s'pose that thar Bay-Oh-Net happened to belong to one a Son of the Morning Star boy's in the Mighty 7th Calvary at the battle of the Greasy Grass do ya?;)

Translated. You don't suppose that bayonet happened to belong to one of Custer's Men at the Little Big Horn, also known as Custer's Massacre, do you?:)

..in one easy jump...but he can give you a letter from Custer's widow stating anything you want. Skinning big game out there on the internet prairie HEHEHE

I know a deeply politically uncorrect Custer joke, a little too strong for here. Email me if you want and I'll forward it on.
