Nealy JSB Point?

Hi Gang- I first saw this knife point on a Bud Nealy knife; a thick tip with a narrow angled edge, on the point. The Strider SnG has this point also as does my Joe Watson kwaiken. Maybe someone can please post a pic.
Is this point a traditional Japanese style point or is this the so-called American styled point? Let's clear this up.

Aikuchi - probably a variation on a traditional design... I have seen just about every Japanese sword tip imaginable but not that exact one.

Bud used to put this point on his Aikuchi.
I'd just like to know who introduced this very interesting knife point.
