In the midst of all these teaser threads going on, I figured I'd sneak you guys a peek of a little project, you'll have to forgive the poor photography, it'll be done much better after it's done:

almost04.jpg

What you see.... The blade is Tamahegane, hand forged, the fittings that you see are sterling silver, and the handle is Gabon Ebony. You don't see (at least not well) the 14K gold and diamonds in the pommel.

I'm making the knife as a fundraiser for the lukemia/lymphoma society, and when I sell it, all the proceeds will go to them.

I need to finish up the handle just a little, touch up the antiquing in the silver, and finish polishing the blade to show the Hamon line(s) and of course, sharpen the thing.... (this stuff gets Scary sharp)

Enjoy;
Tony

Wow Tony,nice job ! What can a guy say except that ," You realize of course that the pic you posted just won't do " ;) You are now obligated to showing us some "Detail" when the project is complete. I like it !! :thumbup:

Tony, Nice to see some of your work and glad to see your well enough to be doing some. The knife is great and I hope it raises a bunch of money. As for the Tamahegane I have no idea as to what your talking about and I even did a search and your post comes up. Please help educate an oldman.

Sorry, try searching for Tamahagane Richard, this steel isn't exactly what I'm making for the other guys, but you could get very similar results from what I'll be sending them.

I've got nearly $1000 invested in the knife, plus a "lot" of hours, so I hope it does well too.... to bad I won't be keeping any of it to recoup costs :(

Tony (more later)

Weird timing for me though. My6yr old girl,Morgan, Was just tested today for lymphoma. It might just be cat scratch disease though. Hoping for the best!! Either way well get through it..we dont ever give up,all to stubborn in this family :D .

Sorry to hear about your daughter, when this one sells, all the money will go to the society for research on curring and preventing these blood cancers.

Might not be 'till morning that I have better pictures, the photo guy has it now, been fighting with the Hamon since this afternoon....

Tony
