A few years ago I bought a couple of Benchmade 330 Mel Pardue D2 Special edition Jan 2003 frame lock folders. I was surprised how much I grew to like this little knife.
It's small, the blade is about 2 3/8" long, but it is designed so well that is really performs. It cuts like crazy.

This BM 330 SE has a Ti frame with G-10 scales that cover only the rear part of the lock bar. I hope Benchmade brings this model back.
It is so thin and light weight you forget it's in your pocket but it is ready to do the job when needed.

Here are some photos of the BM 330 SE along side of my CR Small Classic Sebenza.

Wow, I hope they bring i back too!

That fits my bill exactly!
Clip
D2 steel (don't care that's its D2, but tired of 420HC and AUS6&8)
Thin
Plain ole drop point

I don't care much for the new abstract textured grips and the "humped" blades aren't a negative...I'm just too traditional for 'em.

I love the 330 and was fortunate enough to get the two they did for the KOTM runs in 2000. A great gent's knife, one of my favorite Benchmade designs ever.

Ah Geez...

Rich, you just had to post this right in the middle of my frantic search!!

I've spent the last two weeks google-ing for a 330/335.

The cheapest I found were right around $60 for the 154CM version. Even passed on one that was on ebay.

Don't worry, while you enjoy your D2, I'll be keeping the faith... someday... :D

I wouldn't pass up one with 154CM if it's to be an EDC. My 335 with D2 is in my pocket virtually all the time. I use it as a money clip.
Sometimes I forget to wipe down the blade and it has gotten a few little spots. They clean off pretty well but 154CM would, I think,
be much less likely to get little rust spots.

The big difference with the 154CM models I've seen, they are a little heavier because they have a steel frame.

Good luck with your search!

Here is my real EDC. It has been in my pocket for 4 years, jeans or dress pants. It just sits there unnoticed most of the time. The finish on the Ti frame is very rugged. Almost no marks from other things in my pocket. What I really like about it, it's a really sturdy knife that cuts very well but it is is so light weight and slim I don't notice it's in my pocket.
