Figured I'd share one of my latest little purchases with you fellas. Not sure if this is a new gadget or if they've been around and I'm just not down with the times. But everyone that has seen it has thought it was the coolest little thing ever.
It's the Eureka Glide 115. You can see them here http://store.eurekatent.com/products/560146/Glide_115_LED_Lantern
It's an octagon shaped (Anti-Roll) little LED flashlight. Doesn't have a super great throw but it's a bright little light. Package says it's 115 lumens... that's about right. Has a good circular spot to it. It's a good 30 yard flashlight. But what's neat about it is that the top extends to expose a hazy clear tube that turns this little guy in a lantern. Pretty dang bright one too. Runs on 3 AAAs and has a reported runtime of about 6 hours... so it can get you through one really bad night on a set of batteries. I expected it to be cheesy when I bought it but it's a nice little product. It isn't constructed like a Surefire or anything... but for an emergency light you'd keep in your pack... it's awesome. Not crazy about the Gold but that's Eureka's "New Look" apparently. They had one called the Glide 51 that was only 51 lumens but could run 12 hours and was Green. I would much prefer that one but they don't make it anymore
Here are some shots of the unit itself...
Here is a beam shot in my office with the lights off to give you sort of an idea.
And here is a pic of it in lantern mode (Which I think is impressive)
As a flashlight... it's a decent little back up. As a mini lantern... it's quite a little powerhouse. It also has a folding hook on the bottom and comes with lanyard and carabiner so you can hang it from whatever or hang it from the D-ring in your tent. Great little light guys... check them out. They're cheap enough to be a stocking stuffer and are handier than all get out. I bought 5 of them. Gave some as gifts. One of my friends came home to a house without power after I gave him his... he reported back it was a life saver.
Though I'd share.
