Has anyone used any of these?

PEEK
Glass Filled PEEK
Torlon
Grade LE Garolite
Grade XX Garolite
Copper Clad Garolite - this one sounds really cool
Graphite Impregnated Garolite
Kevlar/Phenolic Garolite
Grade G-30 Glass Polymide Garolite
ETFE (Tefzel)
Glass-Filled Delrin

There is considerable use of delrin in commercial cutlery.

I would think having glass (if fiberglass?) added would be a plus and might be worth a try.

Did you see the price of the Kevlar/Phenolic stuff? $378.69 for a square foot! I've used McMaster's laminates and they are pretty good.:)

Thanks for the replies guys!

The one that sounds really cool is the copper clad Garolite, anyone ever see that? I wish McMaster had actual photos of their products on their site. I guess, I'll try searching the web for photos of some type of non-knife application.

Thanks again,
Dan

Peek stands for Polly ether ether keeton , It is a high temp thermoplastic with great memory properties, wear resistance and lubricity. I like to use it for bearing material on titanium bladed folders as a hard stainless bearing tends to dig a groove in the blade and peek won't .Nor will it prematurely wear out like delrin or teflon. Too slippery for a knife handle and no benefit and to costly.
