I was watching Forged In Fire reruns the other day and a contestant had a pretty cool idea to put a dab on super glue on his scale and glue it to his tang to align everything for drilling. A good idea BUT one of the scales stuck to the tang. Trying to remove it he broke the scale.
The other day I saw a tip that had nothing to do with knives but would have saved that contestant a great deal of aggravation. First put down a piece of masking tape on the scale, do the same on the scale, put a drop of superglue on the tape and stick them together. When done just peal off the tape.
I wish I'd have thought that one up but it was someone else's idea for holding a DIY assembly temporarily together.
