Neck carry: concealed or revealed?

I was just browsing pics of get-togethers and knife shows. I noticed that out west and southern USA people openly walk around neck carrying. I've never seen any non-LEO folks in the New Jersey area openly neck carry in public so let me ask... do you neck carry concelaed or revealed?

I always neck carry concealed, but mainly because I don't like the knife flopping about unrestrained.

That's also why I tend to favor stainless neckers.

Depends on the knife, most neckers I keep under my shirt, but this Charles May FireAnt I wear outside in plain view, even into my local Post Office, and have never had anyone, even several LEO's that have seen it say a thing.

If I wear one at all its in the open. You get nailed for carrying a concealed weapon in my neck of the woods if it's under your shirt.

I wear in plain view.

Occasionally I have carried the TOPS Wolf Pup that my brother in law gave me around my neck. I removed the belt clip from the Kydex sheath and drilled it for neck carry instead.

I've carried it hiking and a couple times to the store and nobody has ever said anything.

I do however think that it looks a bit suspicious if you ask me. Some people have looked at it like "what in the world is that....is that a knife........Oh My Gosh!".

Kinda funny.

This is pretty much governed by your state/local law, in addition to custom. In some areas, a .45 on the hip is no biggie, and other places it causes a stampede. Same thing with neckers, and knives in general. What works in TX or WV might not work so well in New Jersey.

When I go to the gym, I always open carry my beloved Emerson LaGriffe around my neck. It is, however, partially obfuscated by my iPod nano. The handle is plainly visible below it, though. I don't wear "neckers" in their standard place otherwise. I have a belt sheath for my LaGriffe and Spyderco Swick that I use with other clothing. My Ronin has never been worn around my neck. Belt carry is usually better, but my workout clothes don't have belts. ;-)
