I have been looking for a better than average neck knife. The problem I am having is that what is a good brand to good with at a fair price. I am not willing to spend an arm and leg for it, but I do not want a piece of junk i cannot sharpen either.

Thank you

So what is the budget? For $100+/- you can pick up something nice in the Maker's Market here from any of a number of fine makers. Boker makes some nice less expensive models anywhere from under $50 and up. Also Becker, CRKT, the list goes on.

Hey Dwarf, what size are you looking for?

On the smaller scale you could look for a CRKT Minimalist, they come in 2 or 3 different blade shapes I think. Something a little larger could be a Beker BK11.

Thank you Bigfatts. about 50 -80 is my price range.

Check out the Boker Plus line up. They have quite a few good ones. There's the Fitz neck knife, the Vox Gnome, Krein Pocket Bowie and some others. For the top end of you budget or a little more you might be able to find a Folts Minimalist (the CRKT version is based on this knife and is significantly less expensive). Or a Tom Krein Dogfish- a tiny little necker, there's also a CRKT model based on this one for a lot less money.

You have a lot of good options when it comes to neck knives. For me, the Izula (by ESEE) and the Swamp Warden (by Swamp Rat) work best for me. Great steel, and great looking too!

is perhaps one of the better thought of neckies.
in that, it's a light weighted and ultra flat package.
with a sizable blade and handle.
perhaps a wharncliffe blade might not fit the usual general idea
of an all round utility blade;
but in the end, it all depends entirely on one's intend and purpose.
good luck in your search.

The Izula 2 is the best neck knife I've used. I highly recommend it. I own 2 of them and I don't collect knives.

+1 for the Izula. Great value in a neck knife, lightweight but sturdy. Excellent sheath as well

Yes, It is a great choice that is also easier to sharpen than some other neckers out there.

You will just have to take a little extra care to keep the rust away. No big deal.

Plus it comes with an unbeatable lifetime warranty :thumbup:
