My google-fu has stopped working. i cant seem to find what i want anywhere.

I am looking for a wharncliffe style neck knife. by neck knife i mean under 4[SUP]3[/SUP]/[SUB]4[/SUB] inches oal, light, that comes with a good (preferably kydex) sheath. i love the wharncliffe blade shape and would really like to get a neck knife that utilized it. i know spartan blades makes one for around $150. but thats out of my price range. my price range is around 40 dollars. i would like good steel (1095, 5160,d2) and also i would like it to be made in america.

i have been looking at the benchmade instigator but the steel isnt all that great. what are your opinions on this knife and what others can you recommend that meet most if not all of these criteria

I'd say put this in the right forum... there's a place to put up your wants and someone of the knifemakers here will put you in the right direction! The knife exchange, Wanted to Buy forum to be exact.

Have you seen the CRKT minimalist. I dont think its made in america and its just over your size length at 5inches.

It's going to be difficult to find any quality knife that will meet your criteria.

The closest thing I can think of is a CRKT Alan Folts Minimalist.

Boker Plus Gnome, 12c27, super short, kydex (I think). I'm not sure where it's made though.
