Do you think this is too big for a neck knife?
If it gets a belt sheath Leather or Kydex?

I could use your help on this one guys:D

Weight is 4.25oz without sheath. Made from 1/8"ATS34 sharpened false Edge. 8" OAL 3 3/4" blade W/Black linen micarta, SS pins and liner.

Robert,

From my experience, that's a bit large for most people to carry in a neck sheath. I say most people because I'm 6'2". 280+ lbs and carry one about that size in a neck sheath myself without a problem or "print". (one of my old HGT models)

About 75 percent of my neck knife customers also order an optional second belt sheath to easily change carry modes.

My limit now for neck knives is 7-71/2" and I try to make them as light as possible with a flat handle profile. I personally don't care much for the miniature size neck knives, I'd rather carry a Case Peanut in my pocket :)

I like the grinds on your knife!!

All of the above.

What I have started doing for my small to medium micarta handled models is to provide them with a multi carry Kydex sheath. The sheath is provided with a mini TekLok and a removable j clip. This way it can be carried as a neck knife, a normal belt knife, an IWB or (with the way the Tek Lok works) it can be mounted to any pack, LBG, or vest.

You know you can only vote for one of the above? I like R.W.'s idea of providing a multi carry system. That way you give the customer the choice on how he will carry it.

At 5'8" 160# that would be too large for a neck knife. 'tho it would be concealable with a MCS sheath.

so I'd have to vote for kydex, belt.

Belt sheath :) That size neck knife isn't a big deal for larger people, but it gets heavy after a while. I sell neck knives, but recommend people tie them to their belt or belt loop handle down instead, as it is safer and more readily acessible. A neck knife can be worn under or over a shirt, under is hard to get, over is visible. Off the belt, easy to get to, not as visible if the first hangs down below the belt a little. And I am starting to like leather sheaths, more fun to make :)
