I've recently being playing around with a CRKT Neck Peck - this is sold as a neck knife and is smaller than the stiff KISS design that they also sell. I read a lot of mails regarding neck knives and there ease of deployment or not as the case may be!!

I've discovered that the neck peck is small enough to be attached to a belt loop by cord and tucked handle down into the pocket.
Leaving a bit of slack outside the pocket deployment is really fast by pulling the hand up catching the cord and raising the knife from the pocket. Immediately the hand can reverse direction pulling down on the handle as you pass - this pulls the peck neatly from it's sheath leaving you with a reverse grip for an immediate slashing defense.

It seems so much easier than a neck deployment under clothing and the peck is small enough to be no real bother in the pocket.

Just a thought anyway!!
ps I have used leather cord on the handle to provide grip

hey, me too - that was how I carried my neck peck, until I replaced it with a Crawford tanto neck knife - I just attached a long kydex clip tho', so it sits in the pocket like a folder, and the sheath stays in the pocket when the knife is drawn. It's nifty - why bother with the weight of a folder (except that this method only worls for knives with small blades).

Yes, that is a carry mode popularized by James Piorek of Bladerigger dubbed the "static cord" system. The sheath can be tucked inside the pants as well with the cord remaining secured on the belt or belt loop a la "slip sheath" carry mode.
