Neck Knife Sheath problem

I have a Camillus Arclite, which I find a delightful little knife, and very useful. Unfortunately the sheath is becoming a little slack. The knife has several times slipped out and fallen down around my waist, which makes me very nervous. Sharp objects floating around in my shirt, just above the beltline, are not my idea of fun. Is there any way of tightening up the sheath, which I am pretty sure is kydex? Can I put it in the oven for an hour, or say the microwave for 40 seconds?

Cheers all, Acolyte.

Maybe you could order a special screw and nut, drill a hole, and tighten it that way. If you have access to a nice knife store that carries Benchmade, take a look at their BM210TK. It's a Snody designed neck knife. The kydex has a tension screw through it tensioned by a small O-ring that's sandwiched between the Kydex that the blade goes through. Maybe you can see it in this picture:

I wear that kneck nife every single day, carried hanging from paracord held by a cordlock. It was a little loose at first and the knife dropped once (that Snody 210 is a SHARP one too!). I tightened the tension screw and it's never fallen out since - more than a year of everyday carry.

If it's kydex or similar thermoplastic, might it be worth it to try blasting it with a blowdryer (ghetto heat-gun) on high, and then pinching it back in around the knife?

Does that make the plastic soft again, so I can then pinch it in with pliers, and hold it tight while it dries, or use a clamp or something?

I also note that no one has bitten on my query about putting the knife in the microwave. Pretty hard to put anything over on you guys!

Cheers, Acolyte.

I understand that kaydex is pretty easy to work at home. I am not sure what the exact techniques are, but there are kaydex sheath making tutorials available on the internet if you search them up. I am sure you can tweak that sheath however you want. Just follow the right procedures so you don't create a pool of liquid plastic instead of a sheath. And as far as I know, using a microwave is NOT recommended for kaydex (not to mention any metal parts in the sheath).
