Made from a farrier's rasp with some beautiful Cocobolo scales and brass pins. 2 1/2" cutting edge, overall length is 6". I still need to make a sheath for it.

I'm glad to say this will be the last file knife I post in a while. I finally saved up a few bucks and ordered some 1075 and 1095 from Aldo so I am looking forward to trying out some good (known) steel :)

I like your style, and this little knife!

I just bought some of Aldo's 1075

Thanks for the comments Gentlemen!

Steve tracking shows mine will be here on the 1st. I have never worked with 1075 so I am really looking forward to trying it out.

That's GREAT! I really enjoy that.

Shane, I like 1075, you can bring out some good temper line activity.

Aldo was at a small knife show I attended recently, I purchased some from him and he told me it was some good 1075! Have fun with it, and hope to see more of your work soon.

Thanks again for the comments guys, I appreciate them!

And Steve thanks for the info. I have been able to get some pretty nice hamons with the old file steel (1095 I assume) so I am excited to see what I can create with Aldo's steels.

Super job on this one! It looks great with the cocobolo on it. I kinda hate your moving away from file knives as I love the look of them.

Thanks FOG2! I will still be making plenty of file knives in the future. I still have around a dozen old rasps left and a buddy of mine is heading up to Wyoming for an elk hunt and will pick me up another 50 or so while he is there :)

I got a chance to play with the 1095 that I got from Aldo. Very nice steel, a lot easier to work with than the old files I have been grinding on. I started a couple more of the neck knifes and got a nice hamon on them. It ended up a little higher than I had anticipated so I will have to adjust my clay line on the next one but overall I am very happy with the steel.
