Neck knife

I have three that I'm very happy with. The Swamp Rat Swamp Warden, the Izula, and the Bark river Bravo necker. They all have their pros and cons. It just depends on what you might use it for and how big your hands are.
I have been wearing the Swamp Warden lately.

Izula, BK11 (becker necker), BK14 (coming soon Izula/BK11 collab), Koster's new no frills BoB knife, or a CRKT Dogfish.

Have been eyeing the Becker Necker and matching micarta scales for a few weeks now--plus was thinking about adding the belt clip to the sheath too.

The 3 I like the most are my Swamp Warden, Izula, and my BK-11. All of them are great little knives to have around. If you can wait a little bit you should also look into the Becker BK14 EsKaBar (a mix of the Izula and the BK-11).

The Becker necker with scales is a superb little knife. I found the G-10 scales made it a little heavier and thicker than I preferred for neck carry. By no means was it excessive, I'm just a skinny dude. Maybe someone with a thicker neck or using paracord instead of ball chain would have no issues at all.

I have a BECKER NECKER, IZULA, BARK RIVER NECKER 2, SPYDERCO S.P.O.T I will say for the money the becker is great and the Izula is my fav for sure great sheath also whitch is important when neck carrying. I really want the new eskabar. would love a swamp rat to try but cant swing it now. also check out the fallkniven WM1 very good also!(on my short list)

I would recommend the Izula. I have one, wish I had 4. Not that I have four necks to wear them on... but I want them in the black, tan, and green coating. And then the last one I'd remove the coating

...I say the Becker is the best deal for the money, kinda big for neck wear, but has an optional TDI belt clip that makes it easy to clip onto anything.

-Izula is a fine knife, has the most compact sheath, and gets plenty of praise around here.

-BRKT Bravo Necker is my personal favorite because it is stainless yet holds an edge just as well if not better than the others. (in my experience) Has a true fully convexed blade. Polished cutting surface. Has the best optional handle scales. And the sheath holds an optional firesteel.

To be fair, the Barkie is the most expensive of the three, especially if you get the scales and firesteel. But i think it's worth it if you don't mind the price.:)

....That swamp Warden looks pretty nice too, but I haven't had the plessure of using one yet.

I have a Boker Vox Gnome that is sweet and also check out Michael Morris for his "Coffin Handle Joker"

It depends on what you're looking for. I've handled an Izula and I think it's a great little blade, it has comfortable grip (albeit for a short amount of time), and the steel is tough. I've never heard anything bad about Becker Neckers, but I've never had any experience with them. Just depends on the price range you're looking for, though. Some things that I've noticed about my neckers that maybe might factor into your decision would be the handle material, the steel and how it will react in a moist environment like your shirt, especially if you work outside a lot, and weight.

Something like the H.E.S.T from ESEE in my opinion would be too heavy, and the point at the end of the handle would be unpleasant.

Get something light, something that will be close to your body, not weigh against your neck, and can be held back by your shirt (when you lean forward for example).

You want a smooth handle, otherwise it will abrade the skin on your chest, and also since the knife will be under your shirt, moisture will affect knives that have a higher carbon content... Another thing to think about I guess.

Neckers are the way to go, but don't just get a fixed blade that has a kydex sheath and attach some paracord, which is what the H.E.S.T would be...

Excellent advice there. For example, I'll throw in something different and say that a neck knife that I recently bought is a Gene Ingram custom, a 5.5" OAL clip point necker in S30V. Very thin blade (compared to the Izula, Becker Necker and Bravo Necker), negligible weight, kydex sheath, reasonable grip comfort. I'll try and get a pic up.

Do you have any paracord lying around? If so, you might give this a try before buying a belt clip (if you can tolerate horizontal carry)... :D <belt in photo is 1.5" wide> The only thing holding the paracord in place is the little spheres (created with a BIC lighter) of heat fused nylon on the ends of the paracord (make sure you make them big enough)...

In terms of the OP, what about one of these?
