I was doing some thinking and I Carry/Wear a Neck Knife all the time, And I was wondering how many other Neck Knife user's were on the Forum ? I think there's no better way to carry a Knife for "Fast Action Draw". Mine's a Custom Made Knife I bought year's ago I'll get some picture's & Spec.'s up latter. Any & All Input Welcome, Take Care !

I have a couple that I EDC on a regular basis:

Lamont Coombs tanto necker

and....

Tanguay Custom LUK

They both are well loved and used little blades. Both are under 5.5 inches overall.

Let's see your pics!

I "carry" a neck knife now and then. For me it isn't as easy to deploy as
a knife clipped in my pocket.

Never used to carry a necker until I got the Bark River PSK, then I discovered the convenience of it, especially in colder weather when my normal method of pocket or belt carry is somewhat impeded by layers of clothing. here is my Bark River PSK and my Gossman PSK. Both with standard kydex sheaths.

Hey mmmotorcycle, Them's some Very Nice Knive's I really like that Tanguay Custom ! Mine aint nothen compared to Knive's like you got, I got mine about 10 year's ago at a Mountain Man Trade Show/Gun Show It's marked OTTOSEN 96 The Blade Is 3 1/8" And "Very Sharp" Total Length 7", I'd be lost without It. Here's a few picture's,

I seen a few they have on the Market that I really like, I'll be checking out the different Neck Knive's but I think nothing over 6" or under 5", I'm on the Hunt ! I guess Why I say It's a Fast draw Knife Is, I rest my hand's on my Chest alot when standing or sitting and my hand Is alway's on my Knife, And that's Fast !

I find a neck knife is fast only if its over your shirt, and unless you're in the woods, I don't think many people will carry it that way. Even up until very recently, I thought I would never carry a neck knife, but I now find them extremely convenient, especially cleaning them compared to a folder.

If you do some research on those makers and their knives you will find a great selection of smaller blades. ;)

Honestly, with my craze for "tactical" coming to an end, I'm really starting to like the looks of knives like yours. A nice traditional design can go a long way. :)

Never used a necker but I'd like to try one. But I have to question whether it's an advantage in quick deployment in most circumstances. I can't think of how I could get my hand under my shirt around the blade and out from under in anywhere near half the time I could get a knife out of my pocket or belt. Many layers of clothing would weigh against a necker even more than a belt knife--OK in cold weather your coat may be past your pocket--but what, you're naked from neck to waist save the knife? Maybe in some areas you can walk around with a knife hanging around your neck outside your clothing--not around here. And even then, why not put a knife on your belt if you're in Dodge City? T

o me it seems like the benefit of a neck knife would be you can reach it from a different region of the body. Not likely to come up often for most but I recall Southnarc talked about this, there may be situations where you cannot get at your pocket, maybe one hand is occupied, maybe you need to get a weapon from the offhand, etc. Again, not likely to come up for most but you never know.

I carried a neck knife every day until my accident in August and love them. They are easy to access, legal in Canada no matter what, and just plain nice to use. I kept my neck knife for everyday chores and my folder for food.

I've tried many more & currently bounce between using a HAK, Little Bird, & Spyderco SPOT. I'm expecting a BRKT PSK tomorrow & have a Nemesis Hellion on my keychain.

I've used an Emerson La Griffe, but prefer the HAK & SPOT. I've tried a number of small 2 or 3-finger FB, but have come to really prefer a finger hole for easy indexing.

It's amazing how many good designs there are out there.

Yes, it is carbon fiber, made by Joe Brum. Very light, you don't know it's there.

i feel ya, lol.

for me, with the necker under my shirt, they are slower to draw than a folder clipped to my pocket, i dont see how they could be faster unless ya didnt conceal them, which i dont have to do legally, but i dont wanna walk around with a neck knife outside my shirt, lol, just doesnt look right, for me anyway.

also i wear a gold necklace and the chain for the necker clashes with it.

That thing is awesome. How well does it cut? What do you use it for?

I stopped carrying my neck knives around my neck. I never got comfortable, and it was always awkward drawing it underneath my shirt. I am pretty quick, however, drawing them out of my back pocket with the sheath on a static line.

I o not carry a neck knife on the outside of my shirt very often, so it is a slow draw. Of course knife quick draw is pretty low on the priority list.

I consider a neck knife essential, we are often robbed by an attack from behind.

A chokehold could be met with instant violence.
