Hello all.

I am looking for a neck knife, for about $100 to $150 USD. I would like a fixed blade, that can be carried comfortably around the neck. I also like a finger loop, like a karambit. I like the Snody Dead Ringer, but I hear they are hard to come by. Are there any more easily obtainable knives of this style? I would also look at a fixed blade kerambit in this price range. Or for that matter, any good neck knife for $100-$150. Thanks everyone.

You need to check out the HideAway Knife. They are within your price range and you really can't get a more functional and compact fixed blade.

Here's a picture of mine...

HideAways are available in several blade shapes, including wharncliffe, hawkbill, recurve, and a hybrid.

I second the S.P.O.T. I own a plain micarta one and I like it alot more than my LaGriffe.

Another recommendation for the Hideaway knives. Neat little knife and awesome customer service.

I'm surprised that no one has mentioned Emerson's La Griffe! An effective, compact and lightweight SD weapon (seems like that's what you're looking for judging from your kerambit reference) with a flat, minimalistic neck sheath. The Griffe's hawkbill blade shape and the finger hole (although here it is used for the index finger) are also very kerambitesque.

With the price range you stated, you may even get a handmade Fred Perrin La Griffe.

Other than that, you could draw your own design and ask a custom maker to make it for ya.

I had a Emerson LaGriffe. I gave it to my sister for when she goes jogging. Personally, I wasn't that fond of it. I'm not a big fan of the chisel grind. Good knife, just not for me. I much prefer the Spyderco SPOT.

I am new to this site and hope that I am replying in the correct format. Help me out folks, if not. I own both the Spyderco Spot and the Emerson La Griffe. Both great neck knives with different personalities.

I just recently obtained another neck knife that I believe may be the best of the three for me. It is a Fallkniven WM1.

Any opinions on this knife welcomed.

The nemsis knives Hellion is another great option and is only about $50, but you won't be disapoint in the hideaway mentioned above. Just another thought as there are alot of option when it comes to neck knives.

I got to use both the Spyderco SPOT and Ronin knives for a few days in pass-around trial.

For a pure SD knife, I liked the little SPOT, which is available for as little as $45 online. I have not held a Hideaway, but I think that little 'beak' on the SPOT would probably be more destructive in flesh than the Hideaway for ripping and slashing. I did a stab-and-rip test on 8 layers of toweling with cardboard backing with the SPOT, and the results were impressive.

I liked the Ronin well enough to buy one. The Ronin is suitable for both SD and general cutting tasks, available for $100 online. I've since modified the standard Ronin sheath for dedicated neck-carry, and it just disappears in neck-carry.

Both highly recommended.

Thanks for the suggestions everyone. I still havent descided, so Keep them comeing!
