I own 5 neck knives and I guess have an addiction to them. I have a Becker Necker 11 and 13. CRKT Consequence? Can't remember if that's correct or not. A Tops Bartender Defender and a Essee Izuula. I really want one with a superior steel. Anyone have any ideas? Am I the only one with this neck knife obsession?
Edit: its the CRKT Triumph

Really like neck knives but I want them smaller than everybody makes. The only one I've ever been able to wear comfortably is a Morris knives mini necker.

Really? I literally forget that I'm wearing them. Maybe because I wear them between an undershirt and outershirt?

You ought to look into getting a custom made.

T.M. Hunt (a forum member & knife maker) has made some great neck knives in the past. He sold me a 1.5" Wharncliff necker in O1 w/ kydex sheath for $50, and since then I think there's only been 3 days where I haven't worn it. It's so small and light that you don't even notice you have it, but it's a great blade and more than enough for general EDC uses. The O1 is tough and holds a great edge, too.

I just checked that out, I may have to get one, Hahah. The Tops Bartender Defender is tiny as well. I carry it to barbeques and parties and such because it has a bottle opener on it,lol,...

Have you checked out Murray Carter? He's an ABS Mastersmith who uses Hitachi White Steel #1 laminated between SUS410 or a mild steel called Gokunan-tetsu. He definitely fulfills your 'superior steel' requirement. Here's a necker that he made, probably ~180mm OAL.

Wow...one these are going to have to go on my short list, amazing blades.

Bark River Bravo Necker, I believe they come in CPM-3V as well as their usual steels.
Busse Skeleton Game Warden, comes in proprietary Infi steel

Thanks man. These are what I'm looking for, without spending a fortune. And for a necker I prefer skeletonized handles. Good lookin out.

I was just going to recommend the bark river 3v necker as well. Awesome blades!

no worries, both are skeletonized I believe so you're in good luck. the Busse might be a tad hard to find though.

Good taste, I need to get my hands on one pretty soon.

They're very hard to find, figures considering that's the one I like most...Hahah. I'll find one though.

I've wanted a Murray Carter for quite some time, his blades are stellar IMO. With that being said an excellent and often overlooked smaller fixed blade is the Swamp Rat Swamp Warden which features SR-101 AKA 52100 which is a grand steel aside from corrosion resistance.

Alan Folts Minimalist, CPM-154, and a perfect size for a neck knife in my opinion.

I'm a necker fan as well. I have a few different ones. I've always been disappointed that carrying a concealed fixed blade is illegal here. It means I can't legally wear my neckers out in town. However, I solved that problem by picking up one of A.G. Russell's folders with a kydex neck sheath. Problem solved.

+1 on the Minimalist.

I love neckers and have lots of different ones I've picked up over the last 5 years. At this year's BLADE Show, I happened upon Mr. Folt's table and checked out the Minimalist. I have to say that for its small size, it is a true winner of a design and he makes them in several different blade styles. I chose a hawkbill Minimalist and love it. Light and handy, it gets worn often. Problem is...is now I want more of them in different styles! :D

...And I gotta say that he's a really nice guy. An absolute pleasure to talk to and do business with. :)

ETA: Hit the post button too soon... :o I also love Murray Carter's neckers. I have received more compliments on his when worn over the shirt, and these knives are extremely useful, yet very comfortable on the neck.
...and man he gets 'em sharp!

I was just about to suggest Murray Carter. Looks like he does fantastic work and his demonstrations are always very interesting to watch.

My other suggestions are a Scrapyard Scrapivore, Swamp Rat Swamp Warden, Busse Game Warden, Busse Skeleton Key, and Spartan Blades Enyo/Phobos.
