I have no problem doing a forging demo, and would be happy to do something else too.

What else is lined up?

Now, was it the third or fourth attempt at the double rope cut that we're forgetting?:D

-love ya, bro... don't beat my ass for this!

well i think if mace spent more than 25 minutes forgin out a knife he might have something worth bringing to the cutting comp.
man what a sleeze trying to make knives without handles to same time before and event..... who does something like that>?

Spangler, Your just jealous of the fact that I know how to forge a blade....
heck...even Matt has forged a blade(even tho he ground it into dust!).
Maybe you should watch my demo at the hammer-in....this way you can learn how to make a knife bigger than an inch and a half long!

Fun is fun, but you boys really shouldn't throw any stones untill you step up to the plate and actually cut something with one of your knives.:D
Skining mice don't count Mike!:jerkit:

On a serious note:
What other demos???????
Mace

I wish I could attend this one, but I'm out -- no way the bossman's gonna let me skip 2 Saturdays in a row.

HOWEVER, if I could attend, I'd like to see a heat treating demo. Nothing real fancy unless you just wanted to make it that way, but the simplest of techniques that ace's such as yourself take for granted are made readily apparent to those of us greenhorns that understand why but have never really seen how.

Fun is fun, but you boys really shouldn't throw any stones untill you step up to the plate and actually cut something with one of your knives.

We're just razzing ya, bro... I know YOU know it, but others might not see it... so I'm saying it: Truth is, if I'm going into a cutting competition, I'm paying YOU to make my knife!

I'm bringing my buffing stuff and will cover the basics on steel and stainless.

If anyone wants to buff something email me so I know if I can and you have it prepared correctly.

I'm only bringing 8" X 1/2" buffs and mabe 6 rouges.

Better prep makes better buffing!

Hey Mace truthfully i need to make some time to get learning a thing or two from you... i'd love to forge it'll really open up a lot of room for designs that arent that easy with stock removal. i admire the fact you can make a knife that performs so well in about 25 minutes:D
as soon as i find a motor for that bradley i'm gonna get full force into this forging thing

I have some of the demos listed on the necka post now..

it's a good thing I don't have a knife for the H/I or you all would be crying:foot: :D ;)

I'd love to see a demo on a frame lock
and i'd also love to see a demo on tang tapering.

Mace: I guess i need around a 3Horse i've been told. hey you better be nice to Dan or i'll bring his cutting comp knife to the hammer-in, and let him swing away:D

Dan, I don't see how it's confusing. We are talking about the same thing.

Mike, Please bring Dan's knife....this way he has no excuse about not having any time to make one. :D
Maybe I'll make mine at the hammer-in instead of the night before.

Make your knives sharp boys!!!:D

Mace it's just that I have two threads on the same subject to watch now..:) ..

if that knife was at regulation length 1 1/2" longer , think about it..
10% better over all  ..
you guys would never have competed again  I've done you all a favor by not entering the last few times :D :D ;) I can't keep holding back you know..:D

na i think i'll leave it at home....
after all no-one wants to see a grown man cry, and i don't think we have anyone big enough to rock you back and forth and calm you down Mace

well then again Dave Sylvester is going to be there:eek:

Has anyone heard from Bill V?
nope not me since I got him to change the web site concerning the H/I ..
I asked him later to add the pay link on the site for the H/I but nothing as of yet:confused:

Hey Guys,

I have been hibernating. My job has been making crazy lately and I have been finishing a few pressing projects. (not knife related unfortunately).

My wife and I have tentative plans for that weekend and I may not be able to make it. I should know by the end of next week if it's a go or not. If it's a go, I will be theree and I will volunteer to do the filework demo.

TikTok,
If I am able to make it, want to share the ride?? You have to go right by my house on the way anywhoo.

Dan,
I will try and get the link up on the NECKA site ASAP.

For your enjoyment, here is a link to a project that has just been finished. The audio portion is not meant for little ears.
