My buddy Jeff talked me out of my first one. I still miss it!

If there is a Necker 2 thread already open, my bad.

Here are mine. I use one just about every day. These are FANTASTIC knives and perfect for around the house for all kinds of cutting tasks. I have 2 in the house that I use on a regular basis and 3 others in bags and my cars. They are especially good to use for making Christmas Tree (small push cuts on the 3 or 4 edges of the fatwood stick) cuts in fatwood to start a fire.

Yes they are on both counts. The new 20CV is even easier to sharpen.

Here is the one I had. I modded the scales myself. It has since been sold. I cant remember to who though....

I think it was a facebook member before I deleted my facebook account

They really are useful.
20cv is a breeze to sharpen also!
What's your favorite method to sharpen 20cv and this size blade? I have stropping down for my 5, but I think I'm still screwing up the angle on my N2.

OBX, I'm really sorry to hear of your necker II situation. That really is terrible. I just can't believe you don't have a different necker for each day of the week. You only have six, you're so close. I guess you'll keep having to double up with the "weekend necker" until you can find another on the exchange. Until then I imagine it will be pretty hard on you, but that's why we're here. Wishing you the best in this difficult time!

I strop my n2s. I've used a stone and found that I could get it sharp but mistakes were time consuming. A strop is a ton more forgiving and just about as fast if you're using a coarse or extra coarse compound. The 2 N2s that I use regularly have sap and/or adhesive on the blade and they can remove compound so I have to reload my strop after sharpening.

RE: 6/7 days of the week....thanks for the support and concern. I do it somehow. I chalk it up to clean living and fancy foot work....

I found that DMT Diafold with blue and red (coarse and fine) works pretty well. Then follow up with the strop.
I personally prefer a toothy edge so I don't go to crazy with extra fine grits.

I just got in from outside and happened to take a couple more pics. I think like most of the country, this last week felt like spring, but now the snow is back in the midwest!

After being... "meh" about the necker, even with handles, I haven't gotten on board with the necker II. I'm probably missing out. How does it compare specifically to the 2.7?

Different handle, feel and blade shape. Call me capt obvious but you have to get it in hand to feel the difference. PM me for more.

Off-topic, but we all knew that winter couldn't be over yet. Even with the warm spell coming back this week, I am suspicious. I did break out my tools and start building things in my garage again though, so i was annoyed when the cold weather put a stop to that (I don't heat the garage and need to be able to feel my finger-tips to work :p )

Nice photos Silver!
Nice! At least your pup will be happy for a bit!
Thanks, dudes!
Yeah Standard, Roxie sure has been enjoying it. Some days it is harder to get out for a walk, but she loves just laying on the cold driveway and rolling in the snow.

I felt the same way about the neckers. The whole idea of the ring threw me off. Now that I have one I like it. I'd say the 2.7 feels like the knives I'm used to. It's the traditional shape and you can tell it's like a smaller 3.5 and similar to an izula with a much better handle. I can do any normal knife stuff with it. The necker II to me feels like a utility blade. Pop it out, give something like a box or a cord a quick slice then put it away. I could spend a good while carving on a stick with the 2.7, but not the n2.

You're absolutely right. Yesterday was nonstop snowfall here! It was full on spring for almost a week and everything is completely white now. Come on!

Wow! Save some for me, lol. Buy seriously why get so many of the same knife? In a time of plenty(thousands to choose) why multiples, especially that many...for each there own i guess.

They are like potato chips and while we're at it fishing rods, shotguns, guitars, amps, other knives, etc.

Why do I have 6 of them? I was lucky enough to handle a N2 blank way before production. I loved the ergonomics and ordered 2 numbered N2s. When I got home I found that I was using them daily and wanted to stash the 2 numbered N2s and have 2 for full time use. A friend had a few of these and didn't want them any more and gave them to me. This is how I ended up with 6. I gave one of the non-numbered N2s to one of my neighbors, a 13 year old boy who is just starting to get into hunting and offered him the knife for doing work around my house. I really use the 2 around the house daily and the other is in my car. They are remarkably useful knifes.
