Kool beans!
I sweat alot, so anything that would hide potential staining from said sweating would be a plus for me... Can't wait to see the finished product!

Great shape to it. Will you be making any with handle slabs? If so put me on line Brian!

I'll get some made eventually....These will be limited production runs when I can fit them in. No scales on them till I get cought up alot more.

Got the 5" version drawn up........:)

I'll get some finished :) There going to be from 3/16" stock. A little thick but I am thinking if I grind these very thing these small blades will handle more abuse plus the thicker stock will be better because there are no handle scales :)

I flat grind :) It should work out okay. I have had good luck getting the edge geometry to cut well. There sort of meant to be a pocket HumV type thing :)

sure....it will have a kydex neck or pocket sheath and be skelotonized and aged look :) So ...........feel free to beat her up!
Check your PM's

I'm curious, Is there a procedure for aging o-1? I've got quite a bit of it lying around, and even just made my 1st fixed blade out of some.
It's a kneck knife, and I used the o-1 just because I had it lying around. I never figured it would come out as nice as it did, and now I feel like it would be a shame to not use it. I figured it would be a scrap blade, it's not.
But, I am concerned with corrosion, and any way to minimize it would be great.

you cn just etch it with ferric chloride, that will help. I use chlorox to age mine and steel whool :) Then ferric chloride.

Thanks for sharing, I appreciate it.
I've searched the net pretty hard, and can't find any info on this procedure.
Etching with ferric chloride is pretty straightforward, but could you perhaps elaborate on the Clorox procedure?
It's sounding like maybe you are doing a rudimentary passivation of the steel.
If it's inappropriate for me to ask these questions in this particular thread, please let me know.
It sounds like it may be too late for me on the knife I already have, since it has handles on it, but it'll make the rest of my material much more useful to me.

I rub cold bluing on the blade and soak it in chlorox for 5 or so min. Then nutralise and repeat as needed.....scrubbing with 0000 steel whool in between. The etch. Thats it :)
