I received this Neck/Utility knife from Nektarios of NP knives few weeks ago to test it. Used since, it’s now time to resume my feelings, impressions and thoughts about it

Specs of the knife are as follows:
Blade length: 70mm
Blade thickness: 3,5mm
Steel: AEB-L Steel
Handle: orange G10 (Corby bolts and lanyard tube)
Length OAL: 160mm
Sheath: hard pressed leather

The NU knife by NP knives is a compact, sturdy fixed blade. The blade has a drop-point shape with scandi grind. The handle is somehow squared; anyway, the corners are fairly rounded so it is comfortable enough

A classic leather sheath is provided with this knife. The leather is very thick and the sheath retains nicely the knife

The NU knife works really well on carving woods. I have arranged a friction fire set with him, several tent pegs, traps ecc.

Handling the knife: the handle is short, yes, but not too short to be handled safely. We are speaking about a very compact knife anyway, so don’t expect the best comfortability of the world, that said is good enough to be handled for most of the task without problems

Cardboard, ropes, plastic: NU knife it’s not the best on these materials. The scandi grind is too wide, NU knife need a real effort to cut cardboard, ropes and plastic

Food: again, not the best tool to cut vegetables due to the short and thick blade. The same on fruits. Good enough on pizza and other foods like bread and meat

Other tasks: I used the NU knife to cut and collect some wild vegetables. The knife works very well for these kind of “rough” jobs, and I was amazed about the surface treatment after this kind of job. Also, the orange handles color is great to not to lose the knife in the grass

In summary, the NU knife is a nice, sturdy, compact fixed blade. It’s a fairly good knife, a good all-around cutting tool. I just would like a full-flat grind and a thinner blade to improve the cutting efficiency. I really thanks Nektarios for provided me the Neck/Utility knife for this test.
