Thomas, I know people have already mentioned stuff like this before and it's probably a given that it will happen at some point in the future but, just to re-affirm.

I've decided that the 0560 is the nearest thing to a perfect EDC folder I will find on the factory market. Now I just need one in Vanax 75 or M390 (or both).

Thanks for listening.

(Oh, and a CF scale to go with those would be sweet, and if you want it to be a composite blade go ahead. Maybe make the Ti slab out of Timascus too.)

We'll see how things go with the 777. If they don't sell because of the price then I agree that a simple steel upgrade would be better.

If anything, the 0777 needs a steel upgrade for the cutting edge steel, the Herring Damascus is undeniably sexy, but the cutting edge N360 steel isn't that great from what I understand but I may be wrong.

And whats with GPKnives having a limited edition 0777 with M390 listed as the cutting edge steel? I knew the prototype had it, but didn't think M390 was a go due to etching problems. Misprint?

The cutting edge was upgraded to M390

Can we get confirmation on what steel is going to be used for the 0777. Is there a quote from Thomas somewhere.
With all the great materials being used for the 0777 I think the cutting edge would have to be premium steel to fit in with the overall
design of the knife.

Maybe in the 0777 thread, good luck.

As far as I can remember they said it will be Vanax35 or N360. There have been hints at something coming up using Vanax75 though, I'm hoping that they pulled off a miracle and got some for the 777. If not I think they should go with Vanax35.

Wow, the price of that would probably put it at or over $500. Pass.

I got my Spyderco Military M390/CF for $220 + shipping, IIRC. Add the cost of a Ti framelock and 3D machining the CF scale, I think 350-400$ is doable.

But yes, MSRP may beat that point. Assuming prices don't change, a 0777 @ MAP pricing is 480$/600 and has most of the above features. Street price for a souped up 0560 probably wouldn't break 500$.

Anyhow, a while back there was talk about preorders for a tigerstriped 0560. IMO tigerstripe only works on Strider styled blades - blades that are relatively leaf shaped like the SMF/SNG and the 0301 Strider/Onion collab. Doesn't look so great on a Hinderer designed blade.

0562 Sprint All Ti Frame + CPM-M4 Blade + DLC Coating

Thomas said recently that M4 is not in their plans. But I second your motion!

In a YT video Kershaw-Mike said tiger stripped 0560's were most likely gonna happen soon.

I have been asking for an update for the 0777 cutting edge, in the first look thread but no response. M390 was tried but came out black and dull, no go. Thomas said N360 or Vanax 35 were good. But he also said more recently that there might be another Vanax 75 knife in the future.
I hope the math equals V75+DT Damascus=0777, YES!

I know alternate scales are gonna be available eventually, but I wouldn't mind just seeing the 0560 be available in different colors to begin with.

I wish Kershaw made optional scales for at least some knives, maybe one day.

At least it keeps all the aftermarket guys busy making custom scales.

I like glow in the dark or carbon fiber, maybe an exotic wood or micarta would be nice too.

I'm sure there will be monkeyedge frag scales in the future for the 560/1 series. I think a blue frag scale would look fantastic on this knife.
