i just realized that I may need a more versatile pack when going camping. the reason why is because I always have gone by myself but now my kids are old enough o go now. I need something that I feel can carry things for 4 people. They may have their own small little bags but nothing of size to make a dent in the supplies off my shoulders.
I like Maxpedition but I have always wondered if Maxpedition backpacks are as comfortable as traditional trekking packs such as The North Face and so on.
I really love Maxpedition for the toughness and Molle attachments.

....for day hiking I presume....or over-night ?

I too have always wondered about the comfort on Maxpedition packs. They look like they are more geared toward durability rather than comfort. I have a kelty redwing and even when packed full you can barely tell you have it on, if it is adjusted correctly.

Mountainsmith Maverick, five thumbs up, one of the lowest priced name brands out there and by far the most durable, and to me, comfortable (unless you want to dig into military packs)

Buy once, Cry once. Go with Kifaru if you have the money.

For day trips, I prefer a MOLLE/PALS compatible bag that can stripped bare or pocketed, depending. Right now, I'm sporting a Lightfighter RAID pack and really like the comfort for days afield.

i've got a Maxped Condor II....i have no experience with their large packs, but the Condor is very comfortable, and when utilizing the PAL webbing properly...you'd be surprised at how much stuff you can carry.
