Hi guy's,
I need a favor...Anyone here that has a Nessbuck style knife, that would like to do a poor shoe cobbler a favor??

Here is all I need...Trace the outline of the knife on a piece of paper and scan it and send it to me??...I am working on an idea for a friend but I dont have a Nessy style blade to go buy...

Thanks

Shappa,
Thanks for the link...that might work

I am planning on using it as a template and I need to get as close as possible..

hmm...trail and error time:thumbup: ;)

Dave, you are terrific working from templates. The pocket holster you made for me is testiment to that.

thanks Steve  :D

if it were a template for a sheath, that wouldnt be a problem...I have some furniture grade plywood left over from the last snake cage that I built (lol "George" decided to bite me Thursday!) that I could use as the knife if I had the dimentions..

I need a template to make the knife itself...I stumbled onto a tutorial on a different board that showed how to make a Nessy from an Old Timer skinner..

Well the only 2 things I am missing is the nessy to go by and the handle material...I am working on the handle material (curly burl) right now..that leaves the nessy

Yuppers if I can do it, I am gonna call it the "Messy"...:D

All that is really known about Sears' knife is the picture from his book. Here is the picture, from OldJimbo's site.

Your interpretation based on this picture is as good as anyone else's. Take it and run with it, regardless of what the current fad for the "correct" interpretation is.

Leatherface?

this is the best thread I've seen with multiple variations of the "Nessmuk"- shaped blade on any web site. Maybe one will speak to you, and you can enlarge it enough to print it out and use it as a template. Good luck:

(Once Leatherface got the link I deleted it "just in case.")

Howard

Nice drawing thanks

Kismet...Wow now THOSE are Nessbuck's!!! I am pretty sure I can wing it from the pics that I have looked at

Hopefully will be able tos start it soon

Dave, a bite from George sounds like it could be nasty. What type of snake is he?

I've had big iguanas. No matter how lovingly I cared for them and handled them they would bite. Bad, like a gator and sometimes wouldn't let go. I kept a syringe around at all times filled with vinegar to squirt in their mouth to get released. Lots of blood. Mine.

George is my daughter's Ghost Corn...It was funny that he bit me..Didnt even hurt...Course if I was spreading Sevin Dust on ya, you would prolly bite me as well!!!lol

I could tell ya stories about being bitten though...

Emerald Tree Boas...<~~~chainsaw's!!!!

Green Tree Python<~~~Super chainsaw!!!

Blood Python<~~~~Lucky Chainsaw (bit me then twisted!!!GRR!! worst bite!)

Red tail Boa..got me in the web between the thumb and first finger (TENDER!)

Never had a really bad one though (I have heard stories though!)...I am pretty lucky when it comes to snakes...I love the things so they pretty much let me hassle them:D

Monitors hate me!!!

Vinegar?? Most people that I know use ispropyle alchohol...Although I do know one guy that uses white liquer in a spray bottle just in case his Burmese desides to get frisky!!;)
