As a Boy Scout, a Spyderco is all I've carried. Check out the D'Allara 2---the drop point configured model. I highly recommend this blade. It's inexpensive (it can be found for as cheap as $55), has great FRN handles, a wire pocket clip that works great, a strong ball bearing lock, and a good, corrosion resistance, edge-holding VG10 blade. It comes WICKED sharp out of the box and is easy to keep that sharp with barely any maintenance. It's one of the less-commonly-spoken-of knives in the Spyderco line. Also, check out the ATR stainless steel, Police, or the Endura (I recommend either the quick-opening Emerson Wave version or the supersteel ZDP-189 variant). Hope I helped. God bless you, America, and our men and women over seas.
KATN, as always,
Wade
