I've been doing some stock removal for the past 4 years and I am making the jump into the forging world. What is a good propane forge for the money? Do I need to buy one ready to go, or can I make one fairly easily and save some money to put towards other important stuff like grinders, polishers, materials and pepsi?;)

goto http://www.reil1.net/design.shtml and read everything he has. I built one for mabe $60 out of a pice of 10" pipe and kaowool. if you try to buy one it will set you back over $300. If you pan on forge welding soon you might think about using castible refractory instead of kaowool because the flux eats the ceramic blanket and soft firebricks like water on cotton candy.
