Need a good multitool

Hey all,

I currently own a leatherman micra for the keychain. I don't actually own a decent multitool anymore. I was wondering if you all could point me in a good direction.

I'm thinking something along the lines of the leatherman Blast or Juice, or a Vic Swisstool of some kind.

Nothing to heavy, but reasonable size, price (around 50$ or less), and weight. No features in particular I need, but I will say I plan to be exploring the outdoors more as time goes on if that helps.

Thanks a lot.

If you can live with its' size, no locking tools, and no can opener, I would very hartily suggest the Leatherman KF4! You can get some killer deals on ebay on this model right now (like around $35), and its a great, great tool. Not too big, not too small, and built well.

Thanks for the replies guys -

I was wondering if your suggestions would change if I was to be daypacking/backpacking?

Nevertheless, those options look really nice.

The Spirit would still be your best bet in that case.

I love my Leatherman Squirt S4, but I think I could have gotten a Gerber for less money.

Can you be more specific? I've been a SAK nut until I tried the newer leathermans.

Go on ebay a d search for a leatherman juice pro. No locking tools but pretty much every tool you'd need all in one tool. They were only released to costco and in the UK from what I can gather and are selling for about $35-$50. It's my favorite tool for all around carry.

Well, I do have a micra, so I don't know about the squirt (although some of them look kinda cool hehe).

The juice seems nice, but I think for the price the Swisstool might just win it out.

I think I am going to go for the swisstool without the bits - I realized I had a little multitool just for that already..

Thanks for all your help.
