I need a gunsmith who is good with Smith & Wesson revolvers. I have two which need professional attention :( . I would prefer to find one near where I live (western North Carolina) so I don't have to go through the hassles of shipping firearms. Anyone here who can help or point me in the right direction?

Thanks!

Mike L.

I know this isn't what you're looking for but the easiest way to get a S & W fixed would be to send it back to Springfield :)

S&W in Springfield repaired my revolver for free, even though it was almost certainly not a manufacturer's defect. I really suggest that you get in touch with them.

Agreed. I've even seen respected gunsmiths do a few hack jobs. The guys at Springfield will do you right.

You can send and receive handguns for repair from the factory without going through a FFL. Your cost is just the cost of shipping. I live a few minutes from the S&W factory so I consider myself lucky.

If you still want to get a local S&W specialist, post your question here:

There are lots of VERY experienced enthusiasts there, and they will give you the straight poop on who does good work.

I just tested my link. This site is being updated (part three of a three-part upgrade). If the link doesn't work for you immediately, try back in a day or two. This site was is being migrated to a new location and the software is being updated.
