931-302-8530...... always willing to help out

If you are wanting to do small blades...... a mapp gas kit, olive oil, stainless mud pan, thermometer, and a small hot plate and you are in business.....

awww..... a magnet, safety equipment and tongs.... too...

delbert im currently working on a cable damascus blade. if everything goes right, ill take you up on your offer. what rc can you get

im also planning to do some file work. can i do that before temper or wait to get it back

If you would be so kind as to fill out your profile, we could know where you are. You might have a smith right in your town who would do it for free (and teach you in the process). As it is ,we don't know where you are.
Stacy

Do the file work first.

Carbon steel? do it yo bad self!!!!!

I already do some of my carbon steeel myself but becase my forge set up isn't permananet and I don't have it riged with proper ventilation and all I usually only heat treat a couple of blades and I am done if the weather is such that I can't keep the garage open to circulate air. I also don't get a 100% of the warp free.

Delbert does a good job, before i had a Paragon, he did all of my blades and hard to beat that price if you dont have the facilities

Sorry by the way i am in South Western Ontario near the Detroit Michigan border but I would have no problem mailing them off.

Well the number of blades vary and so does the size the reason I am asking this in the first place the last place I sent them to ruined 20 and made very little offer to compensate they are capable of doing tooll steel and stainless I have never had a problem with them on that but my 1095 was destroyed 20 whole blades down the drain.

Abe,
I've done lots of 1095 blades. No worries. How bad are the other blades? Ruined? warped? Did they return the blades? If they are flat ground They may be able to be straightned. On the other hand if they were quenched in water then the question may be moot. Cracked? I use parks #50 for 1095 and no cracks. I did crack a blade once, just after I first started, Oh maybe 18 years ago. I have a digitally controlled kiln and Ive had no problems since I got that.

I don't know if you remember but we know each other back as almoast as far as 18 years ago I traded you some leather and still have the knife fore which we traded for.

The blades are flat ground and not cracked and they appear to have been quench probably while they were still swinging they are banannas from front to back most of them even into the handle.

Abe,
I wasn't for sure until you signed one post. Send me one of those F******up blades. I will make no guarantee but maybe I can do something with it. Worst case is I can't, send me one of those blades any any others you have ready to heat treat. If you do a batch I'm sure I can cut you a deal.
Thanks,
Del

Here in Houston, JMA Heat Treat does an excellent job, but you need to give them large batches of blades to be cost effective.
